"Earthbender!" shotued Captain Tsien Li. "We have you surrounded! Come out, rebel, and I will spare you!" The haughty Fire Nation commander nodded, smirking confidently. At his right hand stood Jingfei, his lieutenant. The young woman couldn't help but look absolutely annoyed.
"Sir, we aren't authorized to use deadly force…" she began, but was silenced by her commander.
"Tsh!" he hissed, holding up a finger. "The Earthbender doesn't know…"
"Incoming!" shouted a soldier as a boulder hurtled up from over a small rise. The Fire Nation forces scattered as the boulder slammed down onto the brown, rocky ground.
"I don't think the Earthbender cares, sir!" Jingfei shouted at the absolutely useless commander. Shoving him aside, she ran out with another Firebender and went on the offensive. Both of them brought their arms around in a move meant to create a stream of fire. Combining the snakelike strands into one, they blasted the Earthbender.
Yong brought her right foot down and raised a wall of solid stone to deflect the fire.
"Ha!" she laughed. "Can't burn rock, fire freaks!" The Earth Kingdom girl leaned out and made a rude gesture. Jingfei's eyes grew wide.
"You little punk!" she shouted. Leaping into the air, she ignited a jet beneath her, getting ten, then fifteen, then twenty feet of altitude over the battle. As the soldiers jumped into the fray, she started strafing the Earthbender with balls of fire.
Yong dove to the side and rolled, letting a stone fired from one of her hidden allies' slingshots knock out a Fire Nation soldier. Yong stopped just as a fireball hurtled down, exploding a few feet away.
"Hey! Watch it!" she yelled up. Standing, she addressed Jingfei directly. "I'm just a kid!"
"Oh…" the Firebender said, realizing just how true that was. She was about to apologize, when she blinked. "Wait! You still attacked us!" So she leaned back and threw a kick out to the side, sending a lance of flame Yong's way.
Sweeping her arm around, she raised another shield of stone, the line of fire exploding harmlessly against it.
"You people attacked first!" the Earthbender shot back with a grin before a stomp launched a section of her shield wall forward. Slamming Jingfei against the cliff-face, the Firebender was left motionless, and Yong grinned over her shoulder, turning her attention to the other Fire Nation forces. As six other rebels, including two more Earthbenders stepped out, making themselves known, Tsien realized he was bested.
"You… Allright!" he roared angrily. "Sergeant, fetch the lieutenant. Maybe the doctors can do something for the headache she'll have!"

This is awesome for the following reasons. First of all, Yong is in it. A great story from Jamie and finally I love the action pose. You don't see that enough on here any more.
